Check out our 2025 Annual Report

During fiscal year 2025, Foothills Community Foundation celebrated a record-breaking year of charitable impact. More than $6.5 million was distributed through 653 grants, the highest annual grantmaking total in the Foundation’s history.

As of June 30, 2025, Foundation assets stood at nearly $46 million, reflecting 25 years of stewardship, generosity, and community investment throughout Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties.

While these numbers are significant, the stories behind them are what truly define our work.

This year’s Annual Report highlights several examples of philanthropy in action:

Honoring a Lifetime of Service

Foothills Community Foundation recognized Butch Hughes as the 2024 Robert M. Rainey Philanthropy Award recipient. Through decades of volunteer leadership and community involvement, Butch exemplifies the spirit of generosity and service that strengthens our region.

Celebrating the Legacy of Sol Flowers

For ten summers, Sol Flowers transformed a simple sunflower field into a powerful force for good. Through the vision of Danielle Roberts and her family, more than $100,000 was raised for local nonprofits. While 2025 marked the final season of Sol Flowers, its impact will continue to bloom through the lives and organizations it touched.

Preserving History Through Scholarship

The Dee Watkins Anderson Country Club Scholarship continues the legacy of a beloved community institution while investing in future generations. Awarded annually to student golfers from T.L. Hanna High School and Westside High School, the scholarship reflects the values of leadership, character, sportsmanship, and mentorship that have long been part of Anderson’s history.

Enhancing Community Spaces

Through our partnership as fiscal sponsor for tba, Foothills Community Foundation continues to support projects that enhance public spaces, celebrate local history, and strengthen Anderson’s sense of place. These projects demonstrate how philanthropy can shape the physical landscape of a community for generations to come.
