Foothills Community Foundation has donated 30 new TempurPedic mattresses and mattress covers to the Salvation Army’s Stringer Emergency Lodge in Anderson. Major Bryan Tatterson thanked Foundation President Robert Rainey for the donation, acknowledging that the old mattresses at their facility were in dire need of replacement. “A good night’s sleep is important to everyone“, Tatterson pointed out. “These new mattresses are clean and comfortable, while meeting industry standards for fire safety. It’s a wonderful gift.” The Stringer Emergency Lodge on Tolly Street is operated by the Salvation Army and provides temporary housing.
Mr. Rainey explained that the Foundation was able to purchase the new mattresses through a partnership with Good360 and TempurPedic. “Our Board of Directors seeks ways to maximize gifts to those in need in our community,” Rainey explained, “We were able to purchase almost 200 mattresses through this program and we will be able to help several charitable organizations in our community” “Our mission,” he stated “is to retain and nurture the charitable wealth in our community. When we use Foundation funds to help the Salvation Army meet basic human needs, we are fulfilling our charitable mission”.
