Foothills Community Foundation is pleased to announce the 2012 recipients of the Jonny A. Lyons Memorial Scholarship. A bequest from Mrs. John Joseph Lyons provides scholarship assistance to descendants of Orr-Lyons Mill employees. Her legacy will live on in perpetuity through the Lyons Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The four recipients of the Lyons Scholarship for 2012 are Molly Elizabeth McCoy, Zachary Scott Posey, David M. Buchanan and Andrew Joseph Cannell. Miss McCoy and Mr. Posey are both recent graduates of T. L. Hanna High School with plans to attend Clemson University in the fall. Mr. Buchanan is a Westside High School graduate who will attend the Bridge to Clemson Program this fall atTri County Technical College. Mr. Cannell (not pictured) is a recent graduate of Bluffton High School.
All of the 2012 scholarship recipients are grandchildren of Orr-Lyons Mill employees. Each student receives a $2,000 scholarship from the Foundation.
